General CommentsI just got my Grand Cherokee last year and it was a major step up from my old Toyota Tacoma (also a '97) At 180,000 miles it has some minor mechanical issues that haven't been too difficult to fix. The 5.2L V8 offers incredible performance and the towing capability is superb. The Quadra Trac 4wd is very capable, driving on the ice and snow here in Idaho is a breeze and this Jeep doesn't slip unless you force it to. Off road it is very capable easily mastering the same terrain that was technical for my little pick up and also out performs a 2001 Expedition I used to drive. It has a very dynamic suspension system which is equally impressive on and off road. This Jeep is loaded with gadgets that I thought were revolutionary when I first encountered them on a 2006 G6, but sometimes I feel that there are two many electronic gadgets available for the computer to handle. Other than telling me my rear lights are out when they are not this Jeep is perfect for my family and our lifestyle.
